Summer is well and truly over now.<\/p>\n\n

The days are getting shorter, it\u2019s already quite chilly in the mornings, and if you\u2019re still out and about in the evening, you realise quite clearly that winter isn\u2019t far off.<\/p>\n\n

We are still enjoying the beautiful colours of autumn. The woods around St. Lambrecht are ablaze with red, orange and gold. On sunny autumn days in particular, it is wonderful to take a stroll through the countryside and savour this special time of year. <\/p>\n\n

But we\u2019ll admit it: we\u2019re actually looking forward to the snow a little bit.<\/p>\n\n

On social media, too, we\u2019re now seeing the first pictures of snow-covered mountains, skiing and winter holidays. People are starting to make their holiday plans, and we\u2019re slowly starting to look forward to the coming winter season as well. <\/p>\n\n

We\u2019re looking forward to winter<\/h2>\n\n

For us, every season has its own charm. But when the first snow falls and the countryside around St. Lambrecht is transformed into a white winter wonderland, it\u2019s something special all over again every year. <\/p>\n\n

Suddenly, everything looks different.<\/p>\n\n

The woods turn white, the mountains are capped with snow, and sometimes it is so quiet in the morning that all you can hear is the crunch of snow under your shoes.<\/p>\n\n

It\u2019s precisely these moments that we love about winter here.<\/p>\n\n

And, of course, there\u2019s plenty for our guests to get up to.<\/p>\n\n

A day on the Grebenzen<\/h2>\n\n

If you enjoy skiing, you\u2019ll naturally have a particularly lovely time here.<\/p>\n\n

The Grebenzen<\/a> ski resort is situated right next to St. Lambrecht and has everything you need for a lovely day in the snow. Whether you\u2019re a beginner, a family or an experienced skier \u2013 everyone can carve their own turns here and enjoy the winter. <\/p>\n\n

And after a day on the slopes, there\u2019s nothing like a cosy evening, of course.<\/p>\n\n

At the valley station and around the slope, there are plenty of places to round off your day\u2019s skiing in style with a drink or a light bite to eat.<\/p>\n\n

And at some point, we\u2019ll head back to St. Lambrecht.<\/p>\n\n

Take off your ski boots, put on some warm clothes and just relax.<\/p>\n\n

That\u2019s what a winter\u2019s day should be like.<\/p>\n\n

Cross-country skiing at Weirerteich<\/h2>\n\n

If you\u2019d like to take things at a more leisurely pace, you really must explore the Weirerteich.<\/p>\n\n

When the cross-country<\/a> trails have been groomed and the landscape is blanketed in snow, cross-country skiing here is a wonderful experience.<\/p>\n\n

You glide through the winter landscape, breathe in the crisp mountain air and can simply forget about everyday life for a few hours.<\/p>\n\n

You don\u2019t have to be a professional at all.<\/p>\n\n

It\u2019s not about travelling as fast as possible. It\u2019s about being outdoors, getting some exercise and enjoying nature. <\/p>\n\n

And when your cheeks are nice and cold and rosy afterwards, the coffee back at the guesthouse tastes even better.<\/p>\n\n

Snowshoe hiking \u2013 simply get out into nature<\/h2>\n\n

Another wonderful way to enjoy winter is to go on a snowshoe hike.<\/p>\n\n

It is precisely when fresh snow has fallen that you can really savour the tranquillity of the wintry landscape.<\/p>\n\n

Away from the main paths, it quickly becomes quiet. There\u2019s nothing but the snow beneath the snowshoes, the snow-covered trees and the mountains all around. <\/p>\n\n

You don\u2019t need much at all to do that.<\/p>\n\n

Warm clothes, sturdy footwear, snowshoes \u2013 and your winter adventure can begin.<\/p>\n\n

For us, snowshoe hiking<\/a> is one of the most wonderful ways to really immerse ourselves in the winter landscape around St. Lambrecht.<\/p>\n\n

For our sporty guests: a ski tour up the Frauenalpe<\/h2>\n\n

And then, of course, there are our mountains for anyone who fancies a bit of a challenge.<\/p>\n\n

A ski tour up the Frauenalpe can be a truly special experience when the conditions are right.<\/p>\n\n

Step by step, the path leads uphill. With every metre of altitude, the view opens up, and once you reach the top, the snow-covered mountain landscape awaits. <\/p>\n\n

It\u2019s hard to describe the tranquillity up there.<\/p>\n\n

Of course, when it comes to ski touring, safety always comes first. You must take the weather, snow conditions and avalanche risk into account, and this requires thorough preparation and the relevant experience. <\/p>\n\n

If you\u2019re well prepared, you can enjoy a fantastic day in the mountains here.<\/p>\n\n

A winter holiday doesn\u2019t have to involve sport every day.<\/h2>\n\n

We\u2019d like to take this opportunity to say that as well.<\/p>\n\n

You don\u2019t have to be on the slopes every day.<\/p>\n\n

Sometimes a leisurely stroll through St. Lambrecht is just the ticket. Or a winter walk through the woods. Perhaps a trip out into the surrounding countryside. <\/p>\n\n

And sometimes the best plan of all is simply not to have a plan.<\/p>\n\n

Sleeping in, having a leisurely breakfast, going for a walk, having a coffee, reading a good book and simply enjoying the peace and quiet. <\/p>\n\n

For us, that’s also part of a great holiday.<\/p>\n\n

What we particularly love about St. Lambrecht<\/h2>\n\n

Perhaps it is precisely this blend that makes St. Lambrecht so special.<\/p>\n\n

Mountains and nature, but at the same time a place where life is still a little quieter and more personal.<\/p>\n\n

People know each other here. They greet one another in the street, strike up conversations and even take the time to exchange a few words. <\/p>\n\n

St Lambrecht has a charm all of its own, particularly in winter.<\/p>\n\n

When the lights come on in the houses in the evening, the surrounding mountains are white and it slowly grows quiet outside, a very special atmosphere takes hold.<\/p>\n\n

For us, a cosy atmosphere and a warm welcome are simply part and parcel of St. Lambrecht.<\/p>\n\n

You arrive as a holiday guest \u2013 and perhaps, after just a short while, you start to feel a bit at home.<\/p>\n\n

And that is exactly what we hope for our guests too.<\/p>\n\n

And what about apr\u00e8s-ski?<\/h2>\n\n

Of course, we don\u2019t want to keep that a secret.<\/p>\n\n

If you\u2019re looking for big apr\u00e8s-ski parties and a wild nightlife that goes on until the early hours, then St. Lambrecht is probably not the right holiday destination for you.<\/p>\n\n

But: Of course, we can\u2019t do without a bit of apr\u00e8s-ski either.<\/p>\n\n

Around the Grebenzen area, after a lovely day\u2019s skiing, there\u2019s certainly the chance to sit together in a cosy atmosphere, have a drink, listen to some music and round off the day on the slopes.<\/p>\n\n

After that, things will settle down again in St. Lambrecht.<\/p>\n\n

And to be honest: that\u2019s exactly what we like.<\/p>\n\n

Hier gibt es weder riesige Menschenmengen noch Trubel, der bis in die fr\u00fchen Morgenstunden andauert. Stattdessen erwartet einen ein gem\u00fctlicher Ort, freundliche Menschen, gute Gespr\u00e4che und die Ruhe der Berge. <\/p>\n\n

A cosy atmosphere? Absolutely.A bit of apr\u00e8s-ski? Of course.Partying until dawn? There are other places for that. <\/p>\n\n

For us, winter is all about snow, nature, being active, hospitality and enjoying each other\u2019s company.<\/p>\n\n

And perhaps that\u2019s exactly the winter holiday you\u2019re looking for.<\/p>\n\n

And then you come home again<\/h2>\n\n

At least, that\u2019s sort of how it feels to us.<\/p>\n\n

When our guests return to Pension Lambrecht<\/a> after a day on the slopes, a cross-country ski session, a snowshoe hike or a ski tour, it is precisely this feeling that, for us, is part and parcel of a holiday.<\/p>\n\n

Cold and perhaps snowy outside \u2013 cosy inside.<\/p>\n\n

Autumn is still here.<\/p>\n\n

The woods are still ablaze with their beautiful colours, and on some days the sun warms us.<\/p>\n\n

But the cold nights are already reminding us: winter is on its way.<\/p>\n\n

Here\u2019s to the first snowflakes. Here\u2019s to snow-capped mountains. Here\u2019s to skiers, cross-country skiers and snowshoe walkers. Here\u2019s to cosy evenings. Here\u2019s to good conversations. <\/p>\n\n
